Automated Guided Vehicle System

Driverless - Automated Guided Vehicle Systems (AGVs) transport / store / stack loads without an operator. The automated turret truck is known as an NAV (Narrow Aisle Vehicle) automated guided vehicle.

Systems consist of:

  • automatic self controlled electric vehicle
  • floor system (guidance / codemarkers etc.)
  • computer system

The driverless vehicles obtain tasks and traffic control information usually via data communications systems (RF- radio frequency or IR - infrared modem) from the host or controlling computer (a software system known as PHS - supplied by Professional Materials Handling).

Basic Floor systems consist of:

  • guide rails
  • power or charge rails
  • optical path
  • wire guide path
  • laser guidance
