Block Stacking Warehouse

Block Stacking is a special form of warehousing - without racks or special stacking frames, pallets with stackable cartons or loads are placed on top of one another. These pallets are placed next to each other in rows and blocks.

Block Stacking depends on the loads ability to support this form of storage without damage. Further selectivity is reduced since pallets are stored on top and next to each other.

Block Stacking

  • is economical since no special racks or materials is required
  • is the best cube utilization - for warehouses with low ceiling heights
  • limits pallet or load selection / requires pallets to be moved to get to others - best when material is all the same and throughput allows first-in last-out shipping.
